Toward A Common Goal: The Gulfport School District

When we want to impress others with special places in Mississippi, our beautiful Gulf Coast immediately comes to mind. Outdoor activities on white sandy beaches, friendly people and good places to eat have earned our coastline the nickname, “Playground of the South.” But there is plenty of hard work that goes on at all levels of the community to make the coast a terrific place to live.

The Ghosts of Thanksgiving Past

I am 50 years old. With this, comes a repetitive thought: “age is just a number.”

Is it? Then why do I answer “I’ve lived half a century” when asked my age by certain nosy people? I think it’s because it sounds much more impressive, and might divert them away from the actual number. 50. Wow. Psychiatrists might say the half century thing is a coping strategy, my unconscious mind trying to repress reality.
