Children relish the love lavished on them by grandparents. The joy radiating from the face of an elderly family member when cuddling their grandchild, along with the elderly one’s composure and patience, adds a welcoming stability to an extended family. However, these happy times can change quickly when Alzheimer’s or other mental illness sets in.

The Cat Fairy

I’ve been privileged to own a lot of cats. Cats appear on my doorstep seemingly from nowhere, peering, pawing and meowing to come inside. They wait on my porch with their soft, delicate feet placed together just so, waiting for me to leave the door cracked open; then they slide in.
