The Family Forum: We’ll Always Remember the Titans

My son has been playing baseball since he was four years old. It started on the T-Ball fields in Bay St. Louis and evolved into playing with a year-round travel team. Our family travels around the Gulf Coast on weekends to battle it out on the baseball diamond for the illustrious title of “tournament champions.”

Tiger Moms: Are Growls and Claws Good for Parenting?

Grrrrrrr … the term "Tiger Mom" connotes power, wiles, teeth, claws and stripes flashing. That's a good image to consider if you think you might be going a little overboard in pushing your children.

“They look just awesome!”

“Kewl!”

From the conversation above, you can easily see why Chris Barker named his Long Beach shop “Kewl Kites.” If you ever want to talk with a kite enthusiast, Barker is your man! He is also a construction manager, but the kite shop and kite festivals clearly light him up like, well, an LCD illuminated kite in the night sky (that’s a real thing -- and Barker sells them!)
